It was weeks ago when I received a bag full of goodies from Isadora Cosmetics that made my day! It’s not the first time I have come across Isadora but I have to admit, I have never tried any of their products. In my previous blog post, I have mentioned something about me changing my mascara as part of my makeup kit in which I totally fell in love with. So here it is, the new Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash Mascara that everyone’s been talking about!*

I’ve always been a fan of Benefit Cosmetics since I can remember applying their Porefessional for the first time and how I’ve called it a miracle worker then. A Review: Dashe Cosmetics 17-pc Professional Make-up Brushes

I have been wanting to have a new set of Professional Make-up brushes since I was actually planning on doing some freelance make-up artistry to make a portfolio for myself to submit to MAC if ever I get the chance to apply for a Professional Make-up Artist position. All the other brands and sets didn’t really match my taste since it’s either they’re too pricey or one particular brush that I need is not part of the set. That’s why when I browsed through the Zalora Catalogue, this Dashe 17-pc definitely caught my attention!!
What I needed was the (1) Stippling brush, (2) Contouring brush, (3) Foundation Brush, (4) Tapered Blending brush, and (5) Angle brush. So when I’d browse through other sets and products.. It’s either 1 or 2 brushes would not be included in the set but seeing this set by Dashe didn’t really have me long to decide. As soon as I saw it, I requested Loreto to buy it for me and with no hesitation.. HE DID 🙂 Very supportive indeed, and that’s one of the many reasons that make me love him more :”>
L-R: Foundation brush, Contouring brush, Flat top brush, Powder/Blush brush, Stippling brush

L-R: Concealer brush, Bullet-head brush, Large Eye Shadow brush, Eye-blending Fluff brush, Small Eye Shadow brush

L-R: Retractable Lip brush, Fan brush, Dual-end Mascara and Eyeliner brush, Brow comb/brush, Eyebrow brush, Precise Concealer brush
This is the 17-pc Purple Silver Edition and the brushes are combination of Squirrel, Pony and Goat hair as mentioned in their website. To be honest, you’ll love and hate these brushes all at the same time!
Love it:

  1. They’re really affordable! All at P2,000.00.
  2. All the necessary brushes are all here meaning you can survive even with just this set.
  3. Can be used for both personal and commercial purposes
Hate it:
  1. Hair fall.. 😦 I’m not sure what really causes it because it’s not like I use it harshly but the very first time I used it, hair fall was unbearable 😦
Nonetheless, I love this set! I’m not one to regret things I buy but enjoy it instead! 🙂 I mean, these brushes will surely serve it’s purpose even if it’ll be just a matter of time. So, I still and will always recommend these brushes to beginners like me 🙂

Revlon Colourbust: A Product Review

Last Friday, the only stuff I was able to reward myself with was these babies, a haul of Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters and Gloss. Since I’m a big sucker for lipstick and have been splurging on MACs for the past months, the buy 2 get 1 promo from Lifestyle cosmetic brands definitely had me giddy!
To start off, I’m not really particular with any make-up brands’ new collection, launches, etc. and if I’m not mistaken, this Colourburst Collection by Revlon have been released by the end of 2011 and we’re already on the 2nd half of 2012, LOL. So yeah, about the review!
Lipbutter 035 Candy Apple, Lipgloss 006 Strawberry Fraise, Lipbutter 001 Pink Truffle
001 Pink Truffle

Pink Truffle Lip Butter (w/ flash)
Lipbutter 001 – Pink Truffle is more of a natural shade.
Although most would say that a natural shade would only be suitable during the day, I say that this too is perfect at night! Especially with a much more dark and defined eyes.
035 Candy Apple

Candy Apple Lip Butter  (w/ flash)
Lipbutter 035 Candy Apple is more of a bright orange-red 🙂
It’s actually the type of natural red lips rather than those really obvious and matte ones.
Perfect for summer, especially for dolls out there who always goes for the easy day time look!!
035 Candy Apple + 006 Strawberry Fraise Gloss
Candy Apple Lip Butter with Strawberry Fraise Gloss (w/o flash)
Candy Apple Lip Butter with Strawberry Fraise Gloss (w/ flash)
Well as you can all see, the gloss added shimmer to the lip butter. It’s gloss made it more bright and pretty. The orange-red shade became more evident which is most likely
Pros:
  • Hydrates and moisturises lips (very creamy, and buttery accdg to ads)
  • Many colours and shades to choose from – 20 luscious shades to be exact
  • Reasonable price for an international make-up brand – AED48 for Lip Butters and AED50 for Lip Glosses
  • Perfect for those who aren’t into really bright and heavy lipsticks (like my officemate who felt really awkward with my MAC Russian Red on, LOL)
Cons:
  • Doesn’t last long (which makes sense because it’s a balm like lippy)
  • No scent! And no sweet taste (likely to be expected since its too creamy and buttery, LOL)
Rating: 2 – Maybe a different shade 🙂

(1 – Will not repurchase; 2 – Might consider repurchasing; 3 – Will definitely repurchase again!)

MAC Girl About Town – A Review

Here’s my review on my current lipstick addiction! 😛
This is my first ever MAC Lipstick – since we’re more of just the practical ones like Rimmel, Nyx, etc. I chose this shade because I’ve been a big fan of bright pink lipsticks for summer after bloody red shades, LOL.
MAC Girl About Town is just one of many bright pink shades that MAC has to offer.
It has a satin finish that moisturizes and soften lips.

MAC Girl About Town when worn!
Well shades differ – of course – depending on the lightings!
Here you can see I have provided 3 kinds – 1
. Natural Lighting;
2. Indoor Lighting; and
3. (Night) With Flash.

A closer look
Pros:
  • It’s really long lasting! It stays there for about 6-8hrs – also counting after meals!
  • Bright and has a satin finish.

Cons:

  • Pricey!
Rating: 3
(1 – Will not repurchase; 2 – Might consider repurchasing; 3 – Will definitely repurchase again!)
* You can buy this at any MAC Outlets in your area for AED90. It’s also available online! 🙂
